Barcelona

Monday 8th December 2008

An early rising saw McCarthy and Rumble finally get on the Camp Nou ground tour. This involved seeing the changing rooms, the tunnel, the dugouts, the board room and all the other off-access areas, as well as the excellent museum. Joy did once again turn to confussion though within the museum, as the opportunity to have a photo with the replica that Barca recieved for their Champions League win in 2006 saw McCarthy and Rumble attempt to make off with the trophy, only for Rumble to drop it on his head. Luckily, the woman in charge of photography saw the funny side of the incident.

After completing the tour, we headed back into the city centre for several pints and a couple of sausages, before completing souvenier buying and catching the train back to the airport. The boredom that came with us arriving there 3 hours early, coupled with an hour delay on the flight, was alleviated with the genius purchasing of a football. This saw McCarthy and Rumble use various sign poles as goals to practice free kicks and penalties in the busy departures lounge, as well as a passing exercise down the moving walkway, that very nearly ended in disaster when a wayward drive from McCarthy came inches away from making contact with a woman.

We eventually arrived home at around midnight English time, after an exciting weekend of football. Attending Shrewsbury v Brighton for the next Crocs on Tour outing is going to feel quite poor in comparison

An excellent way to round off the trip was by using this Christmas tree to shout at people as they walked past in the departures lounge of the airport
