ANNUAL BBQ 2004

Mac Industries held its first annual BBQ on the 25/07/2004. It was a prestigious event, with only close colleagues of Mr McCarthy being invited to the prestigious event at McCarthy Towers. It featured a BBQ, close conversation between prominent Burgess Hill celebrities, and instead of the traditional roudy rave usually entertained, some classic party games! Here are some photos from the day

Tom Meldrew starts moaning early, as the guests gather on his perfectly-kept lawn Bert Lloyd and Peter Chapman enjoy a relaxing afternoon in McCarthy Towers grounds
Tom and Chappers discuss bruises from the torture of having blood removed from their bodies Sailor arrives at the main entrance, wearing a dashing hat
Sailor enjoys eating the Doritos off of the floor, after the bowl blew away The famous liar that is Jamie Farhall arrives at the Towers
Sailor gets his bun filled, as Chapman watches on admiringly A queue builds up as top chef Alison McCarthy dishes up the grub
Dean Faulkner arrived at McCarthy Towers to savour the cuisine and give his expert rating And Blue Mayhem webmaster was also present at the celebrations
The famous Oakmeeds magician Andy Cole was present to provide entertainment Tom has a moan at the umbrella after it blew over for the umpteenth time
A spot of rain and the silhouted figure of Sailor appears inside the shed But he is soon out and mounting this hobby horse
Chapman's t-shirt carried an interesting message...... Especially with Jamie sitting next to him
Dean soon left after being insulted too much by Tom, but the rest of the guests finished their food and hid round the back, away from Jamie As they awaited the first game: Musical Chairs!
The music's off, and Sailors navy skills work, as his lightning quick reactions allow him to sit down before anyone else The final 3, as Sailor, Neil and Chapman battle it out
They're knackered after that game Neil doesn't want to lose his crown, so he leaves before the next game....
Its musical statues! What poses could we get from the remaining 5 Sailor was first to go. Jamie is in prayer, hoping for a victory
Chapman went in this round, unable to keep up with the optimistic target of holding a chair above his head for the required time The final 2 - this one can't decide it
But this one does, its Jamie getting beatings again But he doesn't care, as his praying worked as he picked up the Musical Statues title
Andy gets his cards out And he wows the masses with another fantastic card trick
Sailor heads up stairs to discuss a new contract with Mr McCarthy in his office And Mr McCarthy finally appears from the window of 'the rainbow room'
And he's soon on his balcony, although Chapman got very worried about him falling, and the thought of losing his favourite business partner These thick idiots try and cook the famous McCarthy Towers chicken
Sailor points at the BBQ The next game is hunt the thimble. Scott is totally confused. And yes, he is wearing an Alice Band
The hunt for the thimble continues Sailor is completely flummoxed by the whole episode of events
As the search continues, the eventual winner being Chapman A stray Carlsberg lies on the floor at McCarthy Towers. Rumor has it the BHU cleaner was hired to clean the McCarthy Towers ground after the event
Blind Mans Bluff is next up, Scott is volunteered for the role, and soon has chickens being thrown at him McCarthy is obviously having trouble here though
The final event is the Tug of War. The legends team of McCarthy, Chapman and Sailor are blown away by Cole, Farhall and Bert The end of the days events, and Farhall receives the Musical Statues trophy
Chapman receives his award for Hunt the Thimble Bert receives a bottle of ketchup as a merit award for his second place in Musical Statues
Andy receives a pack of cards for his fantastic magic tricks, and even managing to fool Tom Meldrew Sailor is presented with a cup for his recent good performance in coming 132nd in the Sailor of the Year award
And Scott receives a chicken for hosting the BBQ And boy is he delighted!
A wonderful afternoon continued into the evening, as a game of manhunt was played on Fairfield Rec. Chapman, McCarthy and Bert then held a meeting in McCarthy Towers garden to discus how to move both Mac Industries and Burgess Hill Uncovered forward in the next year, after a successful first year for both sites. The futures bright!
