2008 ANNUAL BBQ

2008 saw the return of the annual BBQ to its rightful place - a Saturday in July. With many months of hard planning going into this years event, it was sure to once again reaffirm its place at the top of the Burgess Hill Social Calendar. New guests were invited, as well as a new entry system, whereby guests could only come into the McCarthy Towers garden after selecting a shot at random. The dance competition was out, replaced with karaoke, and for the first time ever the BBQ had a theme - that of Alan Rickman, including the Alan Rickman half hour, where everyone was to talk like the great thespian himself. The only doubt was the weather, and the big question was would it hold, and if not, what would happen to Dougie Lane and his full leg cast?
