2009 Annual BBQ

2009 saw God fall out of favour with McCarthy Industries - for the first time in BBQ history, it rained. Luckily, there were preparations in place to ensure that despite Mother Nature, the number one event in the Burgess Hill social calendar proceeded in all its glory. With McCarthy and head groundsman Tom constructing a shelter using some acquired scaffolding poles and a load of sheeting, a plethora of umbrellas and Jones coming to the rescue with a gazebo, it was go go go despite the rain. The shot entry system was back for another year, pass-the-parcel was of course in place, and there was even a chance later in the evening for guests to show off their talents in Burgess Hills Got Talent. Despite the rain, there was no dampening of spirits on another wonderful evening in the McCarthy Towers garden.
