HULL
CITY - SATURDAY 20/08/2005 |
|

| 2
points out of a possible 9 wasn't really the
start Brighton would of wanted to the season.
The first Crocs on Tour match saw the team
travel to Hull, the marvelous KC Stadium, as
they took on ex-Albion manager Peter Taylor's
newly promoted side, including an overnight stay
in Scunthorpe the Friday before the game |
|

|
 |
| McCarthy,
Kane and Huggins can hardly contain their
delight as the car edges ever closer to
Scunthorpe |
We
have arrived at our resting point - and what a
fine travelodge it is |
 |
 |
| Ben
was delighted to find this complimentary bible
in the room |
It
was soon time to bust out the PS2 for some Fifa
- McCarthy and Kane met in the final game of the
league season to decide the title |
 |
 |
| McCarthy's
Rotherham traveling to Gresty Road to face
Kane's Crewe |
And
it's Neil who is triumphant, winning the match
and the league |
 |

|
| Huggins
can't believe it - a draw between the 2 teams
would've seen his Millwall crowned Champions |
McCarthy
is just as gutted |
 |
 |
| The
final league table |
Their
was a Tesco Extra that was open 24 hours
opposite the lodge - we took the opportunity to
stock up on doughnuts |
 |
 |
| Huggins
tucks into one |
Its
Saturday - we make our way to Hull, including
crossing the famous Humber Bridge |
 |
 |
| 'Brian'
takes our money at the toll - £2.50 is a fair
price to pay for the honor of being on top of
Britain's ultimate river |
The
petrol gauge was worrying low - especially as we
couldn't find a petrol station anywhere |
|

|
 |
| But
alas, we got to one eventually, and as she was
filled up, it gave McCarthy and Kane the chance
to explore |
Is
there a better way to take in the Humber than by
boat? |
 |
 |
| McCarthy
and Kane pose by the Humber |
This
is perhaps one of the greatest road signs you
will ever see |
 |
 |
| The
petrol station had a bargain offer of 5 packets
of crisp for 50p. Neil couldn't say no |
Into
Hull City Centre we went, and this lovely food
area. McCarthy 'enjoys' a pizza |
 |
 |
| The
tomato puree was over the top, and looked more
like some form of anal discharge |
We
wondered if this woman was aware that her
glasses were on top of her head |
 |
 |
| Huggins
enjoys some pasta |
Witham
tucks into his slice of pizza |
 |
 |
| Some
local chavs prove that Hull really is not a nice
place to live |
Witham
and Gemma enjoy lunch, with the prospect of the
KC just too much to handle |
 |
 |
| This
woman was called Betty, and did a superb job of
clearing up |
In
the shopping area we found a pound shop that
sold gnomes. Kane, McCarthy and Witham duly
purchased them |
 |
 |
| The
locals who were in this car park must of thought
what fools |
And
after a long walk, partly as we ended up getting
lost, we finally find the KC |
 |
 |
| The
stadium was generously built by Hull City
Council |
She
is just as nice inside as she is from the
outside |
 |
 |
| The
main stand |
A
fine arena |
 |
 |
| McCarthy
looks forward to the game in prospect |
Witham
and Gemma |
 |
 |
| And
Neil was obviously aroused, especially as the
news filtered through that Mark McCammon was on
the bench |
This
is our new goalkeeper, on loan from Rennes in
France. He was on the bench today |
 |
 |
| Mark
McCammon warms up |
The
two teams emerge onto the pitch |
 |
 |
| England
legend Nick Barmby lined up for the home side |
Its
amazing what the Italians can do. Errea have
managed to combine pink and grey on this goal
shirt, and make it look good |
 |
 |
| Brighton
are 1-0 down at half time - the second half
about to begin |
And
Mark McGhee knows what to do - Mark McCammon is
introduced along with Alexis Nicolas |
 |
 |
| Unfortunately,
the start to the second half is delayed, as the
linesman has found a hole in the goal net |
Brighton
try to pull it back to 1-1 from the corner |
 |
 |
| This
linesman was a tosser |
And
its all over, Brighton still without a win after
falling 2-0 |
 |
 |
| We
wander back to the car - is this perhaps the
most ugly looking building in Britain? |
The
day is finished on a high though, as we buy a
burger from this wonderful man in the city, whom
we nicknamed Alan |
