| A
victory for Sheffield Wednesday, coupled with
defeat for Mark McGhee's men at Portman Road
would confirm Brighton's relegation to League
One. The prospect of trips to Yeovil, Blackpool,
and should they gain promotion, the renewment of
the 'local derby' with Leyton Orient was on the
minds of the Crocs, as they headed east to see
whether the Seagulls could prolong the
inevitable |
| Mode
of Transport: |
Tom
Witham was at the controls of the Witham Mobile,
as we took the Crocs on Tour Lovewagon for the
first time since the farcical journey to
Coventry
|
| Team: |
An
orthodox 4-4-2 of: Henderson, Hart, McShane,
Butters, Lynch; Reid, Mayo, Carpenter, Hammond;
Noel-Williams, Kazim-Richards.
|
| Kit: |
Ipswich
wore their traditional colours of blue shirts,
with a rather flair white trimming, white
shorts, with a rather flair blue trimming, and
blue socks. Brighton chose their away kit of all
maroon, while once again Wayne went for the
yellow, black and white Tour de France
goalkeepers uniform

| Mark
McGhee's Attire: |
Mark
once again went for the light blue shirt coupled
with brown tie, black blazer and tight fitting
black trousers. His shoes were black and smartly
polished

| Weather: |
A
warm day in Ipswich with a few clouds dotted
about the sky

| Stadium
Rating: |
Portman
Road has fast gained a place as one of the Crocs
on Tour favourite grounds. It combines two
modern stands behind the goals with two older
ones on the side. The enclosed nature allows for
a decent atmosphere to be created, although the
Town fans were a bit of a let down in this
department. 9/10

| Food
Rating: |
No
food was consumed on the ground, although a
bottle of Carling for £1.50 was rather pleasant
|
| Entertainment: |
Yet
again, no entertainment was on offer inside the
ground. However, we made some for ourselves as
McCarthy and Witham serenaded fellow supporters
by singing every song that was played at half
time, including changing the words of the Kaiser
Chief anthem 'I Predict a Riot" to "I
Predict a Rape". The days entertainment was
rounded off in the car, when McCarthy went on
the Talk Sport phone in as Noel, a Reading fan.

| Friendliness
of Locals: |
The
locals were particularly nice, especially those
that we saw in the town. The young chap who
served us in Pizza Hut did his town proud, and
his alice-banded hair was just the cherry on top
of the huge dessert of pleasantness. 8/10
|
| Standard
of Local Females: |
There
were only a few females seen in and around the
ground, most of whom appeared to be of the
standard where you would give them a poke after
a few beers. 7/10
|
| Steward
Rating: |
Very
good. They showed us where the town centre was,
and one of them on the turnstile even remarked
"If you want a picture of the best thing in
Ipswich, then I am ready to pose" when he
saw the Crocs on Tour photo snapper. 8/10
|
| Flag
Attention: |
With
nowhere to hang the flag, McCarthy again wore it
is a Messiah-style cloak to celebrate Easter,
and it gained rather a large amount of attention
in the bar before the game. 6/10

| Match
Report: |
Brighton
made it two wins in a row on the road, after
they pulled a shock victory out of the bag away
at Ipswich. Defeat was not an option for the
Seagulls, and they went 1-0 up in first half
stoppage time thanks to a goal from Gifton
Noel-Williams, and Joel Lynch scrambled home a
second in the second half. Alan Lee set up Nicky
Forster for a late consolation goal, but it was
too late for the Tractor Boys. The victory
leaves Brighton with a slim chance of staying
up, but they have to beat Sheffield Wednesday on
Monday at Withdean to stand any chance of being
a Championship side next season
|
| Thought
of the Day: |
With
the atmosphere from the Ipswich fans being
symbolic of 1000 screaming children, we pondered
what could have this sort of affect on a crowd,
and Tom Witham came up with the only sensible
answer, which was that Gary Glitter must have
been at the game
