LEICESTER
CITY - TUESDAY 27/09/2005 |
|

REPORT
| VIDEOS |
| Another
one of those enjoyable evening away trips, this
time saw us travel to the Walkers Stadium to
face Leicester City. Brighton are fast becoming
the draw specialists in the division, so that
was realistically what was expected from the
game with the Foxes - although anything could
happen, especially when you are playing against
the England international and legend that is
Dion Dublin |
|

|
 |
| Leicester
is signposted - we are getting closer to the
destination |
We
spot and stop in a Sports Soccer to buy a flag
and get some pens. Tom Witham is appalled, and
wishes to play no part in the creation of the
Crocs on Tour flag |
 |
 |
| Neil
gets out the pen |
He
soon begins work on the project |
 |
 |
| Neil
has a mare, and has to alter the design of his
'C' after messing the one of the end of 'Croc'
up |
She
is soon finished though, but McCarthy decides
there is one thing missing |
 |

|
| He
adds a rather fat pink seagull to the top right
hand corner |
Back
in the car, and the detour has cost us, as we
discover we are lost |
 |
 |
| We
cut up a couple of lanes of traffic as Witham
points in the direction he feels we should be
heading |
And
he pulls it out the bag, as this sign shows us
exactly where we need to head |
 |
 |
| We
need petrol. Coming out a side road, McCarthy
sees a 'No Right Turn' sign. He instructs Neil
"Sod it, go right". Neil does so, only
to discover we are heading the wrong way up a
one-way carriageway. After much hooting and
wanker signs, we stop, wait for the lights to
change and thus the traffic to stop, and then
continue towards the petrol station |
Oh
yes - Gary is still outside this famous arena! |
 |
 |
| Tom
Witham is delighted to find this image of
Septimus Smith adorning the concourse of the
Walkers |
Inside
the Walkers |
|

|
 |
| She
is a beastly stadium |
The
Albion players prepare for the game |
 |
 |
| Kane
and Witham are excited about the match in
prospect |
Neil
takes this bizarre image |
 |
 |
| The
Walkers is bathed in light |
McCarthy
is shocked after the man behind placed his
rectum rather near his face |
 |
 |
| This
pie was rather hot |
Minutes
away from the teams emergence onto the pitch |
 |
 |
| The
home dugout is ridiculously big in comparison to
the away one |
The
teams are on the pitch |
 |
 |
| The
Brighton players do their customary huddle |
The
game is in progress |
 |
 |
| The
scoreboard does its job of informing us it is
0-0 at half time |
Both
teams look for an opening goal in the second
half |
 |
 |
| Sebastian
Carole prepares to take a corner |
Neither
side can find that elusive first goal |
 |
 |
| A
similar photo to last season - the Leicester
fans begin to leave before the final whistle |
The
game finishes at 0-0 |
 |
 |
| A
second clean sheet in a row at the Walkers for
Brighton |
The
players make their way over to applaud the
traveling support |
 |
 |
| A
fine point, although had Hammond scored the
header it could of been all 3 |
We
navigate our way out of Leicester impecably |
 |
 |
| This
blurry picture of a cone shows that the M1 was
stupidly reduced to one lane |
Witham
looks like some sort of drug addict in this
photo |
 |
 |
| The
map is out, as Neil has come up with a rather
foolish idea - shall we navigate central London
rather than the M25 |
The
players living in London are dropped off by the
team coach at Toddington Services. We stop
there, and park next to Leon Knights mini |
 |
 |
| With
the team coach not far behind us, we pose for
some photos with the car |
It
is a beauty. On our return from inside the
services, we would hold conversation with Leon
and Albert Jarrett about the game, as they were
getting ready to drive off |
 |
 |
| Inside
the services, and Neil and Tom study the map to
try and determine whether we should go through
London. It is a tough call |
Kane
drives straight past the M25 turn off, and
decided we are going to go for the trip through
the middle of London |
 |
 |
| Witham
appears to be fully erect at the prospect of it |
While
McCarthy appears to doubt the decision. |
 |
 |
| This
is a random street in London after we took a
wrong turn - however, we somewhat surprisingly
navigated her well, only getting lost twice |
The
London Eye |
 |
|
| The
day was wrapped up in style by seeing Big Ben,
showing we drove past him at 00.40 on Wednesday
morning |
