| No,
this was not cobblers - one of the final Crocs
games of the season would be at Northampton.
Three points here would all but guarantee the
Albions place in League One for next season, and
having seen two victories in a row on the road,
confidence among the Crocs was high that we
could make it three in a row, and guarantee days
out at venues such as Hartlepool next season (No
video available due to a cock up) |
| Mode
of Transport: |
The
train was used for todays game, with a Southern
£20 day saver ticket getting us into Watford
Junction, followed by a similar offer on
Silverlink trains into Northampton
|
| Team: |
Mr
Wilkins implied his 4-4-2 system with a line up
of: FLInDers, El-Abd, Lynch, Butters, Mayo;
Robinson, Bertin, Hammond, Cox; Savage, Revell
|
| Kit: |
Northampton
chose their home number of claret shirts, white
shorts and claret socks, while the visitors went
for the away number of white shirts, blue shorts
and white socks. Scott Flinders went for the
dashing charcoal goalkeepers shirt, combined
with black shorts and stockings
|
| Dean
Wilkins Attire: |
Dean
combined his trench coat with the normal
tracksuit, and this time somewhat unorthodoxly
dispensed with the white dancing shoes in favor
of a pair of standard issue football boots.
However, more exciting was spotting Mr McGhee at
Haywards Heath station, wearing the blue shirt,
no tie, tight black trousers and a black blazer.
He completed this look with a sudoku puzzle book
and a cup of tea

| Weather: |
A
warm day in Northamptonshire, with the
occasional blustery wind
|
| Stadium
Rating: |
A
stadium that is now in its second decade of
usage, the Sixfields is made up of four
individual stands, all roughly the same in
design and stature, apart from the larger main
stand on one side of the pitch. 7/10
|
| Food
Rating: |
The
hotdogs were on offer were the common
denomination of the lubricated penis, but were
pleasantly large in size and texture. 7/10
|
| Entertainment: |
Nothing
could be spotted.
|
| Friendliness
of Locals: |
Having
read some bad press about some adolescent
teenagers, we were delighted to see most locals
were friendly and more than willing to help us
during our stay in their town. However, the
rating does not reflect the fact that the Costa
Lovebus was stoned, in the sense that it had
rocks thrown at it, not in that its passengers
had been smoking cannabis, as it left the town.
7/10
|
| Standard
of Local Females: |
Delightful.
The town centre was awash with women who would receive
it in many holes - finally a town that looks to
rival Sheffield for this rating. 9/10
|
| Steward
Rating: |
Kind
and helpful, with no trouble whatsoever. 8/10
|
| Flag
Attention: |
Neither
Crocs flag was present at this game
|
| Match
Report: |
Another
two goals from moonwalking Bas Savage was enough
to give the Albion all three points against mid
table Northampton. The game looked to be heading
for a bore draw as neither team created anything
in the first half, but an improved second half
performance saw the Seagulls walk away with all
three points to all but guarantee themselves
their spot in League One for 2007-2008
|
| Thought
of the Day: |
One
fan complained to Rumble at half time about the
amount of songs about Bas Savage being sung, to
which Kane responded: "What are they
singing, Bas Savage is a black bastard?"
