QUEENS
PARK RANGERS
- SATURDAY 01/01/2005 |
|

|
|
REPORT |
| Christmas
is one of the busiest times in the footballing
calendar. Brighton completed there 3rd game in 6
days in the place that appears in the Only Fools
and Horses closing credits, Shepard's Bush. We
didn't find any Trevor Francis Tracksuits
though, but a trip to Loftus Road was good
enough for McCarthy and Witham |
|

|
 |
| Tom
Witham ponders over the exciting day in hand |
While
McCarthy wishes his fans a Happy New Year via
the medium of a mobile telecommunications device |
 |
 |
| A
quick feel was in order to pass the time on the
coach |
Witham
gives it a good old fashioned prod |
 |
 |
| This
coffee machine was a vital implement in keeping
the coach-goers refreshed |
This
dashing red taxi was easily overtaken by the
Brighton and Hove Coach |
 |

|
| This
man was no doubt extremely aroused about the
prospect of a trip to QPR |
Tom
Witham shows off his match ticket |
 |
 |
| And
McCarthy has his at the ready |
We
found this fantastic shop in London. It sells
bubblewrap! |
 |
 |
| At
the famous Loftus Road Stadium, Witham studies
the map |
Once
inside, he tucks into a 'delightful' pie |
 |
 |
| Who
would've thought that stone cold kidney chunks
could taste so delightful |
McCarthy
has to throw it away - describing it as 'utterly
foul' |
|

|
 |
| A
woman knocked into Tom when this photo was
taken. 'Oh sorry' she said. Witham responded
with 'Don't worry, I was just kissing my
programme'. More importantly, QPR boss Ian
Holloway! |
McCarthy
spots Mark McGhee in the programme, and cant
resist himself |
 |
 |
| Witham
felt compelled to take a photo with these 2
women, who sat in front of us for the game |
Chris
may was in a position that was just crying out
'Mount me', or 'Rip off my Trousers' |
 |
 |
| Tom
Witham manages to take a fine picture of his
nose and mouth. A monumental effort |
The
Brighton team warm-up for the big game |
 |
 |
| Michel
Kuipers, Chris May and John Keeley prepare |
This
man was no doubt really excited about kick off,
only 35 minutes away |
 |
 |
| This
steward was doing a fine job of showing people
to their seats |
This
man is waving at someone. |
 |
 |
| Michel
Kuipers signs autographs |
And
is soon back to warming up, catching crosses |
 |
 |
| Loftus
Road is filling up |
Kick
off approaches |
 |
 |
| The
teams emerge onto the pitch |
Kuipers
looking damn fine in his red goalkeepers kit |
 |
 |
| The
players prepare for the minutes silence in
memory of the people who have died in the
Tsunami Disaster in Asia |
Brighton
are under early pressure |
 |
 |
| The
half finishes at 0-0, QPR should be in the lead
though |
McCarthy
reflects on a first half, in which Brighton have
yet again defended excellently |
 |
 |
| Loftus
Road under the lights, with the BBC Television
Centre appearing just above the roof of the
stand behind the goal |
Tom
Witham looks forward to an action-packed second
half |
 |
 |
| The
ground staff do a tremendous job in preparation
for the next 45 minutes |
The
second half is underway |
 |
 |
| Brighton
pile on the pressure |
QPR
look to get the opening goal |
 |
 |
| But
the full time whistle blows at Loftus Road |
The
Brighton players applaud the fans for there
support |
 |
 |
| A
good point for the Seagulls |
Having
fantasised about Dawn French all day due to
being close to the BBC Headquarters, we were
aroused to see her appear on a billboard on the
journey home |
 |
|
| The
day was wrapped up in fine style, as on the way
home we took a picture of a random person at a
bus stop. They were alerted to us due to the
flash, and promptly gave us a wanker sign |
|
