QUEENS PARK RANGERS - SATURDAY 18/03/2006

There is nothing better than some bush on a Saturday. With this motto in mind, it was a 4 man Crocs on Tour team that made its way to Shepherds Bush for the away match at the Loft, as Brighton took on Queens Park Rangers. With a day of fun and frolic on the trains, the legendary Danny Shittu playing, and Tom Stewart making his first Crocs on Tour appearance in over a year, it was all set up to be one of the trips of the season
Mode of Transport: We took advantage of the fine 4 people for £20 offer on Southern Trains by entering Victoria, and then it was a tube journey to Shepherds Bush
Team: Mark decided to play a 4-4-2 system, with a line up of: Henderson, Hinshlewood, Butters, McShane, El Abd; Carole, Hammond, Carpenter, Frutos; Kazim-Richards, Hart
Kit: Queens Park Rangers chose their famous blue and white hooped shirts, white shorts and white socks. Brighton wore their all maroon number, while Wayne Henderson looked edible in his yellow, black and white Tour de France jersey, coupled with black shorts and black socks
Mark McGhee's Attire: Mr McGhee went for a somewhat unorthodox look of grey shirt combined with brown tie, black blazer and black trousers
Weather: A sunny day that was made cooler by the chilling wind that was blowing through our nations capital
Stadium Rating: One of the better grounds in the division, the compactness of the stadium ensures you are close to the action. With our tickets being for the upper tier this year, there was some worry that we may not have been able to see the goal, but in the end all was good. 7/10
Food Rating: After last years disastrous QPR pie, which was reminiscent of eating a raw hippos penis, McCarthy opted to go for a hotdog this year, and they were so pleasant at £2.50 he had two. 7/10
Entertainment: There was nothing on offer, a real disappointment. The only thing that could be considered entertaining was watching one of the ground staff  attempt to maneuver a large hose, which he was unable to do. 1/10
Friendliness of Locals: We didn't really have much chance to meet and greet the local London people, although the few we met in a pub were rather pleasant . 5/10
Standard of Local Females: Where to begin? There was plenty of talent in the Bush, and this of course led to many of the classic innuendos along the lines of "I wouldn't mind shepherding her bush". 8/10
Steward Rating: Rather good, the ones on the turnstile were helpful, and inside the ground they played a part in aiding the putting up of the Crocs on Tour flag. 7/10
Flag Attention: The flag was draped over the upper tier balcony for all of the Loft to see. It was therefore in a prime spot for attention, and the pink seagull ensured that it got all the attention it deserved. 9/10
Match Report: QPR's Kevin Gallen blew 2 points for his side, as Brighton fought back from 1-0 down to get a pint away at 10 men Rangers. With Brighton not managing a shot on goal in the first half, the game turned when the Rangers forward bizarrely decided to clothesline Paul McShane. Playing against 10 men, the Seagulls were right back in it, and a superb own goal from Marcus Bignott gave the struggling Albion a share of the points
Thought of the Day: After the second half kick off, when Richard Carpenter booted the ball as hard as possible into touch, McCarthy started singing the circus theme tune music. This prompted Tom Stewart to pose the though "If Brighton and Hove Albion were a circus, I reckon that Guy Butters would be the one driving the ridiculously small car"
