The Forty Notes Fund was set up to raise money for the might Seagulls. It pays for players wages when they join on-loan, and in the past has paid for Dave Beasant, Tony Rougier and Ben Roberts. The annual quiz night was held to raise money for the fund. Tom Witham, Neil Kane, Tom Cutting, Scott McCarthy and his young mistress Carina made up the Crocs on Tour team - entitled 'Pethlife - The Unofficial Robbie Pethick fanclub'
Mode of Transport: We met at the real home of football that is Withdean, and journeyed from their in the Kane Mobile to the pub in Patcham
Team: We played a 3-2 formation, with Cutting, Witham and Kane sitting at the back one-side of the table, and McCarthy and Carina at the front of the table
Kit: No formal kit was used for the evening, although Neil supplied us with his Brighton shirt embodied with the immortal words: "Pethick 14"
Mark McGhee's Attire: Mark McGhee was not present at the evenings activities, but the man who was captain and lifted both the Division 3 and Division 2 Championships with the club, Paul Rogers, was present, wearing an extremely dashing polo neck
Weather: A chilled night outside, inside the stadium was warm
Stadium Rating: The Ladies Mile had kindly given the function room over for free. It was a large arena, with a well-stocked bar and good PA System. The wallpaper was particularly arousing, although the whole room had marvelous decor. 7/10
Food Rating: Free peanuts and crisps were provided at each table, and these went down a treat. The beer on offer was particularly fine as well. 8/10
Entertainment: Extremely impressive. A rendition of the new version of Tom Hark - entitled 'We want Falmer' was played before the match. The quiz master was a witty chap as well, who kept the crowds entertained with quick-fire jokes. 8/10
Friendliness of Locals: Marvelous. A room full of Brighton fans though, so what can you really expect. Good banter was held with the team to our right hand side, who soon realised that we were using WAP to get answers. 10/10
Standard of Local Females: One particularly nice girl was selling raffle tickets. "£5 for 2 strips", to which Neil responded "That's a bit cheap". Luckily she didn't pick up on the sexual context of the remark. 4/10
Flag Attention: Tom Stewart was not present, so the flag was not viewable inside the arena
Match Report: We started well, using WAP to our advantage to gain answers to questions that we didn't know. However, as we steadily drank more beer, interest in the quiz wandered off, and we ended up in a comftable mid-table position come the end of the evening
Thought of the Day: "What would you do if Liz Costa walked into the quiz totally naked?" was a question posed. Witham responded with: "Stand up and applaud, although I'd have trouble hiding my delight downstairs"
