Cricket - 21/08/07

The big guns were out on display for all the fans in attendance on a wonderful day for cricket. With Burgess Hill superstars Ian Simpson and Luke Vick separated in order to make the teams more balanced, and both taking a leading roll as captain of their sides, it was set to be in an intense battle on a scorching day at The Rec

Captain Vick was the pick of the bowlers with 2-12, and would hope to lead his side to victory in the second innings

An excellent bowling performance from Simpson's team saw them dismiss their opponents for only 74. Despite the best efforts of Oli Wright with 34, and Luke Vick with 16, they fell short, as Bert Lloyd claimed the man of the match crown with 2-8 from only two overs, including one maiden to add to his impressive form with the bat in the first innings
