LEAGUE TWO PLAY-OFF FINAL 2006

With Alison McCarthy having been raised in the west country town of Cheltenham, she decided it was only right to support their little football team in the League Two play-off final. So, complete with Cheltenham merchandise, the McCarthy's set off for Cardiff's Millennium Stadium exactly two years after the last visit

Scott looks practically edible outside the Millennium Stadium We visit a Wetherspoons outside the ground, and Tom McCarthy ends up having drink spilt all over him
Tom McCarthy nearly gave the game away in the pub by suggesting that we were surrounded by inbreds, only to remember his wife comes from the town The pub was full of Cheltenham fans
We prepare to enter the North Stand of the arena exactly two years after the last time The city streets are a sea of Cheltenham red

It was not going to be a full house today A mighty fine arena

Just incase people didn't know why they were at the stadium The teams come onto the pitch
The national anthems 0-0 at half time, with Cheltenham having the better of the game
Cheltenham come forward looking for a goal The game continues to be rather tense
Striker Steve Guinan gives Cheltenham a deserved lead Grant McCann has the chance to double the advantage, but unlike Leon Knight, he misses his spot kick is saved
It doesn't matter though, as the Robins hold onto the 1-0 win to gain promotion to League One The scoreboard says it all
The trophy is lifted These players can look forward to a trip to Withdean next season
