Sometimes, things happen that you can't prevent. There not ordinary things that you expect, they come out of the blue and hit you. They can make you upset, angry, even reduce you to tears. Some people put work into entertaining others, giving them something to laugh at when they are sad. That is what this site is for. Its just here to give you that little bit of humor when you need it. Many hours go into it, unpaid hours. Nurses and Doctors are the public service for making you better when you are ill, Firemen and Police are the public services for when you are in trouble, sites like this and the many ones similar on the net are the public services for when you need a laugh.

But sometimes things go beyond what you are expecting. These things come out of the blue and they hit you hard. Like a kick in the family jewels, they hurt. They drain you emotionally as well as physically. They take so much out of you, that you wake up in the morning tired as hell, and go to bed at night as awake as the devil (Nice metaphor, eh?). Things build up, the initial problem complicates your daily routine, and soon those people you thought were close to you offer little support, ignore you. You tell a close few friends, some will think nothing of what you are going through and go to parties, others will take concern, and try and take your mind of it by asking you to play football. It is then you discover who your real friends are, and who those who care are. An event has taken place in this last week that has turned my world upside down, and complicated the daily running of my life. Sometimes things are more important than your work - and this is one. I have cancelled all my engagements for this week, and the Minor Celebrities public appearances are on hold. 

In this instance, family comes first. It is therefore my deepest regret to inform you that McCarthy Industries will be un-changed for a period. I am not sure of this period of time, but things need to get sorted and I neither have the time or energy to give you fans the high level of content you deserve. I would just like to thank you for your support during this difficult time, and ask you to bear with me and the site in these times of trouble. Thank you all once again.

Argggghhhhh, sometimes life can be so annoying.

McCarthy gave all the people at the dance thingy in East Grinstead on Saturday night the greatest thrill of their lives, when their favourite Minor Celebrity was there to watch the competition. It was a fine evenings work, and they even got the honor of seeing me shake ma stuff on the dance floor afterwards, during the disco. Carina was very impressive as well, and picked up one massive trophy for some award. Unfortunately, she did not listen to McCarthy's advice, and kiss it like the FA Cup when she collected it, nor where there any tears shed. Rather unfortunate, but still, a good nights work

Sunday I graced the Collin residence with my presence, as we held a Superbowl party. It was a marvelous evening, but due to these 2 weekend events, I was left with only 8 hours sleep out of 48. For any mere mortal this would've been a problem, but after my death-defying experiment of last year with my sleep deprivation, I coped with it admirably. 

Tuesday was spent at Pizza Hut, where yet again I came out on top in the Pizza Hut challenge. Not sure when the next one will be, but I need a worthy challenger to my crown. The day in pictures is available on the Pizza Hut Challenge Page. 

Scott McCarthy is also proud to wear these new fangled wristband things - they are to show support for different causes. Being a Minor Celebrity and all, I have been approached by many different people to wear their wristbands as I am a trendsetter, but I have chosen two for the moment to support. One is the Radio One 'Beat Bullying' campaign - this is a light blue one to show that I hate bullies and think they should be castrated. The other is the Nike Black and White Racism one. Stand up Speak up as it is called. I urge people to get these things and show their support

Discussing political views with Tom Stewart earlier, we were harping on about who good it would've been to have lived in Tudor times. Back then, a man could have as many women as he wanted. Of course, I am happy with Mrs Mac, but just think of the fun you could have if more than one women was available to you. I can think of several additional that I would pick, but with my current situation, those ladies will just have to be content with dreaming about being with a Minor Celebrity.

Lovers, a lot has happened since my last entry to you fair people. Although I am struggling to remember what. Ah yes, its all coming back to me now.....

Some of you loyal listeners will remember my plans of around this time last year to re-set my body clock. It was the period when I went around 3 weeks living on around 6 hours sleep a week. When I became addicted to tea and halls soothers. Yes, good days. Well, it all paid off when last Thursday, I was up until 4am doing Drama work. Yes, being the mature and sensible college student I am, I wisely left it to the last minute. And worked on it for around 10 and a half hours. It was a mammoth effort, but my training off last year paid off, as I was able to get it done - even impressed Jonathan the teacher with 'my' artwork. Can't mention anything more, don't wanna get done for cheating

Friday I didn't even notice the effects - I was fine as Marle Place won 10-6 over Mierosoft. Full details available on Marle Place site. Friday 18th February also sees a massive game, as we travel to Mierosoft's stadium at Fairfield Rec, for an 11-a-side match. 7-a-side is OK for our team, but our shocking fitness levels will be tested to the maximum in 11-a-side for 90 minutes. It will be a challenge, but one I feel we can overcome

Saturday it was off to Elland Road, for Leeds v Brighton. The mighty Seagulls took a good point, full details available on Crocs on Tour. Apart from that, work has been going into my drama exam, which is tomorrow evening. McCarthy will need to return to his Caucasian Chalk Circle best if he is to get another A in the subject, which will be challenging. It remains to be seen how he copes

A month that has surprisingly seen virtually no changes. Chris Traylen continues to lead the way, but its getting tight up the top, with the top 5 all within 50 points of each other. Wellsys Wonders continue there climb up the league, moving into 8th, while Jamie Jones bad luck continues into this game. Come on Newcastle, top at the end of October, slip down to 9th in the table. The bottom 2 are the only others that change, with United all the Way moving above The Rockers
