Friday 21/01/05On Sunday, McCarthy did managed to leave rehersals early, and many fans in the Junction were shocked, but nonetheless delighted when he sauntered into the bar, just in time to see business partner Peter Chapman singing along to 'When I'm 64'. An ingenious piece of thinking came out of the BHU Offices, when the cleaner put her brain to good use, in suggesting that Chapman borrow items from McCarthy's Wardrobe, and dress up like he was infact 64. Being a charitable man, hence my nickname of the Nelson Mandela of Burgess Hill, I obliged, and helped Mr Chapman on his way to a very comical performance, which scandalously didn't make the final. However, if McCarthy had of danced at the front totally naked, I feel almost certain that not only would he of made the final, but might of possibly won the whole thing. Congratulations to Dan from Acid Turtle for winning it anyway Since then, things have been relatively quiet at the Towers. Tonight I make a formal engagement, attending a party at the Jones Crib. Many of the guests are obviously turning up to see myself, and I shall give them that pleasure. The Fashion Guide was also completed today, and the lucky people who will be at the Crib may well get to see one of the new-look outfits that are included in this years edition. McCarthy also appeared in the paper yet again, this time regarding a footballing trip to Valencia with Haywards Heath College. Taking place at the end of May, the trip will see a week of coaching at Valencia's training ground, and taking in their final game of the season against Numancia. Rumour has it we may also be taking on Valencia Under 18's in a friendly game. However, I do not believe this to be true, as they are players one step off of a Champions League team, and why would they play a college team from England. However, if it does happen I think the reason will be pretty clear - it was just the fact that the players would be able to say that they got the opportunity to play football against Scott McCarthy on his tour of Spain. Anyway, here is the article:
McCarthy, top row, 4th in from the left. 3 Hassocks players are included in the team in the total - myself, Alex Simpson and Martin Woods. Expect a full report of Mac Industries once the trip has happened Saturday 15/01/05 Well people, what can one say about the last few days. Not a lot to be quite frank, as I am struggling to remember what has happened. Wednesday evening was spent rehearsing again for our Drama exam, it was a fine evenings work, which also saw Becky re-kindle her love for 'Abdul'. What a naive young lady she is. Thursday was its usual Thursday-ish self. However, after returning from Haywards Heath, I journeyed to Carina's house, where Kieran was. They were not engaging in passionate sex when I walked in the door, which was a bit of a let down as it would've been something exciting for the paparazzi to report. Anyway, we conducted a search of the house, as it is believed to be haunted by a number of spirits - namely a heroin addict who died of an overdose in the front room, and a couple of kids who were murdered there. The results were, exciting to say the least. Orbs, even possible EVP was caught on camera. We shall be returning for a thorough search and possibly all night visual in the future Friday was rather boring as well. I would like to apologise to all the fans who had gathered at Kate Brockes house in anticipation of seeing there favourite Minor Celebrity. A large crowd had gathered there in order to celebrate the end of the year 11 Mocks, and had been foretold of the coming of myself. However, due to almost dieing at football training, I decided not to make an appearance, and took the evening off from work. Today has been spent playing football, and most enjoyable it has been as well. Hassocks 3rd Team put McCarthy in goal, and were rewarded with a 3-0 victory. I decided to try a change of luck for the game, and took my kit in a bin liner, Alexis Nicolas style. It has proved to be a lucky omen, as a clean sheet and 3 points proves. Other good news is that Brighton continue their 5 game unbeaten run in the league, with a 2-1 win over Sheffield United. Marvelous scenes Tomorrow must be spent rehearsing for drama which is unfortunate - although I am hoping to get away early, to give all the regulars in the Junction Pub a nice surprise. They are expecting to see the legendary Gemini and Minor Celebrity Peter Chapman in the karaoke final, so why not complete this illustrious threesome by making an appearance myself. This of course depends on the finishing time of the rehersal Inspire by Mr Chapman's recent post on the message board of him in Southway School attire, I have decided to add a random picture to each of my diary entries, if they are available to me. So, here is this weeks. It shows Scott McCarthy, a Southway regular, at age 11, as he shows off the Interhouse Football Trophy he captained his Dyke side to victory in. A proud moment indeed!
Tuesday 11/01/05Hello fans. It has been a week filled with fun, frolics and casual sex. Friday was the start of something special - like a love blossoming for the first time. It was the day the Haywards Heath College Pictorial started. Just from one days showing, I have a suspicion that it could feature Jamie Jones quite heavily. Friday evening also saw a Marle Place game, in which we drew 3-3 with Mierosoft FC. It was a cracking game Saturday it was off to White Hart Lane, were Brighton lost 2-1 to Spurs in the FA Cup. It was a marvelous game - I even managed to capture the Brighton goal on camera, although it may not appear on the site due to technical difficulties. Ok, you've seen through me, I can't be bothered. Sunday was another football match, as we beat Marle Place old boys. All the Post Match Interviews available here Yesterday was a typical Scott McCarthy day. It started badly, when I overslept. Luckily, I wasn't in till second lesson. However, I decided to take a short-cut to the station across Fairfield Rec. However, the rain has turned it from a Rec into a marshland. It was rather boggy, and so I ended up covered in mud. And it was all in vein, I missed the train anyway. I was late for second lesson - only when I arrived in college, was I informed second lesson was cancelled. With no tutorial either, and fourth lesson free, I did not have 1 lesson until 2pm - and I was in college at 10.30. What an utter piss take. I then consumed an unhealthy amount of Jafa Cakes - which I fear I may be addicted to. I then had a Drama Rehearsal after college for our exam - now only 3 weeks away. We finished at 5.30. I was famished. But I'd be buggered with a small furry animal if I was going to give a Haywards Heath food establishment the honor of having a Burgess Hill Minor Celebrity eat in their restaurant, so I returned to Burgess Hill. I met young Mrs McCarthy, and we bought a medium Hawaiian pizza from Papa Johns. Unfortunately, Carina couldn't eat anything before her dance - so the whole thing was for me. Then a fast train came through the station when we were waiting, and made the last slice fly away. Needless to say, I was not happy! Anyway, got to the theatre we were going to do for drama, and the show weren't bad. There were some rather attractive young women in the youth theatre company putting it on - no doubt they were delighted to see a Minor Celebrity in the crowd. I had to disappoint the masses though - there was no hanging around for autographs, plus the fact I'm already taken. Although an affair would make a good tabloid story So today was fun. Spent the whole day 'revising', or listening to the Beatles and Dolly Parton on Elliot's laptop before our Politics exam in the afternoon. It went well I feel, although the last question was hard. Of course when the examiner sees who's paper it is, it will be full marks straight away. Future plans are in progress. McCarthy TV is on the way now, and then I shall start producing the Fashion Guide 2005. Exciting times! Tuesday 04/01/05Well, today has been one of the better college days it must be said. My striking tweed blazer, as seen at the Beatles Concert was given its college debut. Needless to say, the people were awestruck at this striking over garment. Politics this morning was fun as ever - I did yet again not have my textbook, nor the revision sheets. Not good news with an exam now less than a week away. However, big Jonny Hite came up with a few classic quotes today. They are at the bottom of this entry. Tomorrow I play for the college team again. However, I have firmly told Steve that I do not want to play for the A Team. Simply because the B Team is not serious, its so much more fun and I am able to run out of my area and take players on without anyone being too bothered. Which is marvelous. On Thursday, there is also talk of the Haywards Heath Pictorial starting - similar to the Oakmeeds Pictorial, although I doubt as successfull. Why do I doubt it? Because there are no rules to push against at college, no-one minds if you hang out the library window or roll down stairs. It shall not be the same - but we can only try in vein of what we can achieve Here are some classic pictures that have been lying in the office draw for a number of weeks now, which I have finally decided to scan in. Big Jonny Hite arranged for us to go to Downing Street and the Houses of Parliament in Late September, which we did. He took these marvelous images, which he recently put on public show in room A6. But McCarthy stole them, and has scanned them in for exclusive showing on McCarthy Industries
Elliot Gwynne on the right of the picture and McCarthy on the left of the picture are joined by fellow politics student Simon Cowley, as they lead the way after the visit to Parliament
McCarthy and Gwynne, as always wearing traditional blazers, pose for a photo in Parliament Garden. One young female fan behind is destined to get close to her favourite Minor Celebrity
And the big one! Getting past the barriers at Number 10 was never a problem, as the police recognised McCarthy straight away and waved him through. McCarthy and Elliot show traditional pose outside the house of the most powerful man in Britain. Unfortunately, I had to turn down Tony's offer of a cup of tea, as we had places to go and people to see And finally, McCarthy recieved yet more press coverage, when Sussex very own Argus newspaper decided to seek out Burgess Hills Minor Celebrity, and use his comments in the Fans View section of their match report from the game against QPR. It appeared in Mondays edition, and heres what I had to say (please ignore chocolate biscuit stain):
QUOTE OF THE DAY 1: In politics, discussing a mock test. Big Jonny Hite reports that: "this is a good question to have a good thrash out on". It only seemed to be myself, Elliot and a few others who truly appreciated this re-mark for what it was worth QUOTE OF THE DAY 2: He then came up with another gem. When pointing at the board, he was asking us which diagram was correct. He would then point at the correct one. Instead of saying: "which one shall I point out", he bursts out with: "where should I put my finger". Yet again, it was only me, Elliot and a few others who appreciated this QUOTE OF THE DAY 3: A short while ago, I was discussing with Carina her possible trip to Moscow. She said to me: "I don't want to go, it'll be really cold." Now, I have a bit of a thing for Russia. I responded: "Russia rules, its full of lefties". She said to me: "I used to be a lefty once." I was shocked. "I never knew you were a communist" I stated. "No, I used to write with my left hand." Sunday 02/01/05It is now 2005 people. Yes, I here you cry. McCarthy's presence at the new years party in Worthing was appreciated by all, and to all my disappointed fans who went to Carina's expecting to see me - I apologise. I know some of you were so upset that you left early - I apologise for ruining your new year, but the trouble with being a Minor Celebrity is that big events like this will clash, and some people are left disappointed. Anyway, 2005 has been good so far. Myself and Tom Witham journeyed to QPR yesterday to see Brighton v QPR, a full report and pictures available in Crocs on Tour now. Plans are taking place for the first reels of film of Star Wars to take place in the very near future, although this is a tentative subject that needs to be treated with extreme care. Here is the latest table from the Mac Industries fantasy football league, taking into account the Christmas matches, including all yesterdays games:
Thins have gotten interesting since we last reviewed the table at the start of November. Jamie Jones lead the table that day with 'Come on Newcastle', but a mass slump of form has seen him drop down to mid table and 8th place. Chris Traylen now heads the table with Flash Gordons Fantatico, followed by Kevin Ticehurst and ape united. Simmos Select, managed by Ian Simpson move up to 3rd, while the Euro 2004 winner, Scott McCarthy, sees his team move up 4 places, into a Champions League spot. Peter Chapmans Legends are the other big movers, slipping 4 places to 6th. We're now at the halfway point in the season, and there is still all to play for, with just 6 points seperating the top 2, and just 56 points between 1st and 5th. With the transfer window opening this week as well, it can still all change! |
