JUNE 2004 |

Saturday 26/06/04Well, last night was interesting! Prom was great, and I got the greatest thrill of my life so far - a slow dance with Dan Parry. It really was magical. I also got a dance with Sailor, but he doesn't count as magical, because he's always trying it on. The photos we did achieve were pretty poor, but fear not you loyal followers, they will be uploaded as soon as I can be bothered. Tommorrow maybe - depends on whether The Ape has decided to go to Arundel and see another Sussex thrashing. The after party was great - Kelly Firmager is a total legend for organising all that. Great stuff. Here's McCarthy's recollection of the evening: Myself and Sailor enjoyed a nice walk down a deserted country lane with no lights to get to the party. A load of people were hanging round outside, but they weren't getting in - the door staff did a sterling job. When we walked in, someone went 'Evening Scott', and one of the adults on the gate said 'That's the one they call a legend'. I felt honored, and my chest filled with pride like a toilet filling with urine. Raided the beer tent, got about 8 cans of Bud stored away in various nooks and crannies. Unfortunately, these diminished, largely in part I believe to Chris Traylen. Had to keep going back to stock up, none-the-less. Like a midget in urinal, I was staying on my toes to keep those beers. Lizi Summers was also on the prowl, and stole one from me - it was upsetting stuff. Mr Kember unfortunately forgot his cigar, but he had a large collection of Carlsberg - which he very kindly gave one to me. From the point where Chris told me to 'Take it easy with the drink', before removing one from my blazer, I am a complete blank as to what happened. Actually, I remember commenting on the unorthodox, but effective use of Christmas lights in the middle of June. That is all I can recollect - anyone with more info please tell me, I want to make sure I didn't end up making love to a farm animal or something - not that that's always a bad thing. Wednesday 23/06/04 Morning people. It is 10am, and the McCarthy Towers refurbishment team decided to start installing a bloody window at this hour of the day. So that is why I am up, missing out on beauty sleep. Just as well it isn't vital in my case. After a weekend of slave labour, the new site was completed. Everything has been give a total over-haul to keep you fans happy, and my thanks go to Peter Chapman, for his superb contribution and input towards the new site. Its the prom this Friday. I will be accompanying the lovely Sailor to it, in some sort of vehicle. The suit is here. Had a bit of a calamity, as it appears that with me no longer getting the physical demands of a day at school, I have put on weight. Oh aye, I had to have my trousers re-fitted from a 32" to a 34" waist. Either I'm turning into a fat bastard or I'm pregnant. I shall keep you updated as to if morning sickness starts The Star Wars movie is now under construction. The script is nearing completion, and the roles have been finalised, well, nearly. We still need a Princess Leia, so any girls, or guys come to think of it, out there who want to play the part, speak to me ASAP! We have some quality costumes lined up thanks to e-bay, and I can tell its gonna be a cracker Thursday 17/06/04EXAMS FINISHED! Oh yes, I am free as a bird until the 30th June for a meaningless Maths module test. Life is great, I can now spend all day at the cricket, watching TV, eating ice cream or even playing The Sims. I managed to marry 2 bachelors yesterday and build a great house, unfortuantely the male got fired and I've lost a lot of cash flow, but things will sort themselves out! Using my fabulous techological ability, I have been helping install new computers into the Gattons School, which has been damn good fun. Last night we enjoyed a kick about, in which a long conversation with the legendary youth worker Paul Miles began. Paul asked Mr Peter Chapman if he would like to do any voluntary work, and Mr Chapman politely declined, not out of a coldness, but fear: for he was offered a place in the Denham Road Community House. The Mac Industries Barbecue is now almost certain to take place on a date-to-be-announced. Entertainment will of course be provided, with Blitzkrieg soon to be approached about a possible performance. After consulting with Mr Chapman, we are currently working on a new contents page which will not he as full as the current one, and should return the site to its original and simple lay-out. I am also adding that contrary to popular believe, I do not have a fetish for Jamie Farhall's girlfriend. So rest easy Jamie, you'll have her for a while yet, as the lure of a famous celebrity like me would obviously be too much to resist. Look out for new content on both here and BHU in coming weeks, as we plan a massive set of material for the summer. Numerous guides are in the pipeline. It's gonna be one helluva good summer! Sunday 13/06/04 My lack of entries recently had been deeply upsetting to you fans, I know. But exciting times have been happening at McCarthy Towers. Right, where do we start. The exams have been going well I think, apart from Maths, which I am not too confident about. But that's life, its not like I'm going to go into some drunken depression and kill myself. Only Science and English and I'm free, until the 30th June for the Maths Module Test. So, what will he spend his time doing I hear you cry - well, myself and Mr Chapman have a number of things in the pipeline to keep you Burgess Hill residents entertained. The Mac Industries - BHU Twenty20 match is yet to be scheduled, but it may well be taking place at some point after the Teachers v Students match at Oakmeeds. 2nd July, McCarthy opening the batting should be entertaining for any viewers wishing to come and, well, view. Oh yes, we are still taking applications for the Summer Outing to the cricket - an extra enticing offer is that it may involve a trip in the Chap Mobile - now that would be something to tell your grandchildren about! We had a Marle Place match on Friday, unfortunately we lost, but you can see more on the Marle Place page. The Star Wars suit - as mentioned on here previously, has now arrived at McCarthy Towers, setting us back £70 in funds. With this purchase, exciting times are ahead for the site, with many nre features planned - including a new Brighton and Hove Albion Away Games feature - Stewart, Witham and McCarthy on tour - hoping to start with the pre-season game against Weymouth. Talking of Mr Stewart, don't forget to check out his new site - The Legendary Love Boat message board, which can be found HERE The recent trip to London was very fruitful. I picked up an item I've been longing for - a bowler hat, alongside a Ghostbusters T-Shirt! An excellent days shopping. I would also like to thank my Grandparents, who kindly returned from a recent vacation from Ireland with an authentic Irish hat. We are noe building towards the 2005 Fashion Guide - exciting times ahead! Anyway, I think that's it. Good luck to everyone doing exams at the minute, you'll all be fine, and ummm, yeah, COME ON ENGLAND AND GREECE! Tuesday 01/06/04Well, its been a while since my last entry. Exams are going well, or as well as can be expected. McCarthy Industries and BHU are about to undertake the filming of our first programme. It should be exciting stuff. Exciting times are ahead for both sites, especially with our new movie franchises. Talking of Mr Chapman, he took one of the funniest penalties I have ever seen in my life. A long run up, looking to hit it with as much power as possible. His completely straight run up somehow saw the ball shoot off sideways off of the side of his foot. How stupid! Sunday was one of the greatest days of my life. The play-off final was no let down, the Millennium Stadium was brilliant. Hopefully some photos will be uploaded to either BHU or the Fixtures man site pretty soon. Friday night its off to Manchester, as on the Saturday McCarthy Industries will be cheering on England v Iceland in the last game before Euro 2004. Oh, here's one photo from the play-off final, see if you can recognize the 2 drunks in the back:
We are also on the process of purchasing a Star Wars costume, which is deadly exciting. I set myself a new record in Pizza Hut today. When Mrs McCarthy refused to partake in an all you can eat contest, describing it as 'barbaric', I took the opportunity to get in some training. I managed 13 slices, alongside 2 pieces of garlic bread. It was a mammoth effort. And Mrs McCarthy has decided to get some quality parent-child time with her little boy - she's taking me to London tomorrow to a market, where there will be lots of 2nd hand clothing bargains, including some new hats to add to my wardrobe. I will report with any purchases tomorrow. |
