McCarthys Diary

Bridget Jones did it, Samuel Peeps did it, Adrian Mole did it - now Scott McCarthy does it. A diary is a great way of sharing thoughts, feelings and actions from a persons life. And straight out of McCarthy Towers comes this diary. Experience the highs, lows, the laughs, the tears, everything that happens - right here!

Well minions, I am back from my three days away in Poland. It was a trip full of fun and frolic as is to be expected when McCarthy, Rumble and Witham go away together, and one that will leave me with many memories I will never forget. As many of you will know, it has been one of my life-long ambitions to visit Auschwitz, and I am pleased to say that that finally happened on Thursday. It was everything I had expected it to be and more - but I think the best way to describe it would be surreal. To stand looking into a pit where hundreds of thousands of people were gassed to death was one of the most bizarre moments of my life, and feelings which I am certain I will not experience again. I do not believe words do it justice - it simply has to be experienced

As well as Auschwitz, we got to drink a plethora of Polish beer, which resulted in a plethora of Polish vomit, perform 'Ordinary World' by Duran Duran at karaoke and various other moments of disgrace that will no doubt pass into the halls of legend, most notably not getting charged for out hotel room at this current moment in time

Apart from that, the university workload is increasing at an alarming rate, especially given the fact that next weekend we embark on another European adventure, this time to Barcelona for the big game, Barcelona v Valencia. And of course, Christmas wouldn't be Christmas without the Christmas song now, would it....

Nothing really to say this week - I am just preparing myself for what is due to be an emotional few days due to a top secret trip that I will be undertaking with two members of the Croc team. More details to follow

Oh, and happy birthday to Peter Chapman. May he enjoy the descent into middle agedness with renewed vigour

Once again, I will begin this entry with the standard issue apology for lack of updates. This time, unlike normal when I spout out some bollocks reason, there is a genuine reason, and it is this - The Albion Moan In. Yes listeners, following Ian Harts sacking from Southern Counties for using the term 'window lickers', there has been a noticable drop in the standard of the fans phone in. Myself and Peter Chapman decided to address this by working on our first project in a few months, by producing our own webcast. It has been relatively successful, namely in the fact that after just ONE of our shows the BBC made the move to reintroduce Harty to the airwaves. If you want to check out what we have done so far, then visit http://www.socceramworld.com for more information

Apart from that, there are a few more potential offerings of Feeling Randy in the pipeline, and of course the Christmas Song to come. This will, obviously mean that I will be struggling to keep good old mac-i up to date, but I will try and give you fans the McCarthy fixing that you need

Finally, this Friday I am taking one lucky female fan to attend Gloucester v Bristol in the West Country derby. Slight problem is that she is a Bristol fan, and as such I will have to do all in my power to prevent any domestic violence type-incidents occurring.
