Monday 13/09/04Saturday was the only bright spot on a non-eventful weekend at the Towers. We journeyed to Watford on the train, got rather drunk and enjoyed Brighton's 1-1 draw with Watford, thanks to another Adam Virgo goal Today was college. On the way to the station, I made the rather shocking discovery my shoe leaked. This wouldn't normally be a problem, apart from the fact today it was monsoon like conditions. I was left with a very wet foot for the day. I of course enjoyed my yuppie cup of tea, as it is becoming somewhat of a McCarthy tradition. The bloke who owns the cafe remembered me, and we had an interesting chat before my train arrive. In English Language I wowed my public with some of McCarthy's anecdotes, and I have to write a 400 word one for homework. I can't wait to take up my quill and begin the challenge! At 11.25am I came out of college, and returned to Burgess Hill. I was soon cheafeur-driven in the Chap Mobile to McCarthy Towers, then the BHU Offices. The office dogs, Tammy and Milo, were at first not appreciative of another Legend, alongside Chapman in the house. In fact, Milo was rather hostile towards me. This is not suprising seeing as he has to guard the offices night and day from intruders, as this is quite likely with the famous building being the 2nd most important tourist attraction in Burgess Hill, behind the Towers. Tammy didn't seem too bothered, but she probably fancied me, as all ladies do. Anyway, after stroking Milo with a trained hand, we soon became good friends yet again. We almost became more than friends as well, as he licked my hand lovingly and placed his paw rather near my groinal area. After some jafa cakes, we concluded our business and moved onto St Johns Park, where we met a rather important fellow. The contents of the meeting I cannot discuss, but it was very productive, and will be sure to enhance Chapman's and mine minor celebrity status I was then taken back to College in the Chap Mobile, and enjoyed 2 more lessons before venturing on the train home. Tomorrow holds the chance to see the lovely Oakmeeds lady, whom I missed today, and a wonderful Brighton v Wolves match in the evening. Exciting times! Friday 10/09/04Today was so so eventful! It all started this morning, with a cup of tea at the station. Now, this wasn't any cup of tea! Oh no, it was a yuppie cup of tea. It had one of those posh lids with a little slit in to drink through. After paying for the tea, which was delightful by the way, I attempted to put the lid on. After watching me struggle for 5 minutes, the bloke behind the cash desk finally realised I had picked up the wrong lid. He gave me the correct lid - only this one was too bloody small. After around 10 minutes of struggle, I finally got the lid on. But by this time the tea was virtually drunk, so it was pointless Jonesy had even more trouble! He was trying to use the coffee machine at college, but instead got a dark coffee. He promptly threw it away, before parting with his second 60p to get a white tea. After getting half way through it, he realised it was in fact quite foul, and gave it to Sailor. He wasted £1.20 on 2 drinks, and only drank half. That boy has no luck! I today met a fan as well. I can't remember his name, but he knew me! This chap, from my Media Studies class certainly seems like a nice enough bloke - but of course people would consider it an honor to speak to me! Following on from my tea incident, I then got the wrong train home. The particular one I was on was destined for Eastbourne, but luckily it stopped at Wivelsfield, so I was able to change for a train to Burgess Hill, as I had to go to Wilko and see Denver! Chapman rang the Towers late on as well, to discuss one of the most exciting business ventures to date. Keep your eyes peeled - this will be different gravy! QUOTE OF THE DAY: Having purchased my cup of tea, Sailor asked: "Is that coffee, hot chocolate or cappuccino?", to which the blunt answer from me was: "It's tea". He looked ashamed of himself - a naval man forgetting tea. Tut tut! Wednesday 08/09/04Well, college today. Back to getting up early, and catching the train! Such joys make the day more pleasureable. Myself, Bert and Tom wandered to the station this morning, and on our way I saw a rather attractive young lady making her way to the old girl of education, Oakmeeds. I know who she is, and of course the chance to join a Minor Celebrity like myself for a curry and a beer one evening would be like music to her ears. The only problem is I don't know how to contact her, but we shall find our ways Big Jonny Hite doesn't know what he's got himself in for in his politics class either. Not only has he got my good self to contend with, but, that's right, Burgess Hill's finest Elliot Gwynne. Sitting together at the back of the class, it's gonna be a fun 2 years in that class I can tell! English Language was where I met a delightful young lady called Zoe. Instead of using 'Hi, I'm Scott, a Burgess Hill Minor Celebrity' as I did at the introductory day, I went with 'Hi, I'm Scott, and may I say that's a fantastic skirt your wearing'. It was a long skirt covered in flowers, much like the curtains in the McCarthy Towers dining suite. She seemed charmed, and I feel I may have won myself another fan I was then roped into doing the Football Development course, to get a Stage 1 coaching badge, which actually looks bloody good fun. Caught the train back with Mr Walmsley and the famous mulleted wonder Dan Collin. Was an exciting journey. Free period first thing tomorrow, then back to the grindstone. Life is tough at the top! QUOTE OF THE DAY: Big Jonny Hite was looking for words that "describe how you feel at the thought of your first Politics lesson." People came out with the usual excited, happy, curios, then from the corner where myself and Elliot were sitting came the bellowed words of : "HORNY" and "AROUSED". Monday 06/09/04There is now just over one month till Scott McCarthy day now, and plans are well underway for the most prestigious birthday of the year. Quite what they will involve is unknown yet, but there will of course be a small party and many other events to commemorate the birthday of my good self. More details will be made public when they are known Anyway, Thursday we ventured to cricket, where we had a fantastic evening and all got rather drunk. There is more about that fine evening HERE. Friday we had college for another introductory day which was pretty pointless - myself and Bert attended rather hungover, while Jonesy didn't even make it in! Then in the evening we obtained some wonderful images of Ashley Wells working in Waitrose, which I will put on here in my next entry. Chapman also joined us later in the evening, and we attempted to do a Burgess Hill hook-up spots guide, although it went rather pair shaped with no preparation. Ok, not pair shaped, massively rugby shaped Saturday was boring as hell, and Sunday it was cricket time up St Johns. Me and Lewis put on a partnership of 40 and I took 3 wickets. The ball then got run over, making it turn rather egg shaped, leaving a rather queer bounce We start college fully on Wednesday, so that is when the hamster will start turning in the wheel again and the site will get more and more updates. Sailor will provide us with his selection, and we're hoping to have several new features for the site as well QUOTE OF THE DAY: From Friday morning, we went into Sainsbury's as Tom Walmsley wanted something to eat. Sailor picked up a free newspaper entitled 'The Sussex and Surrey Gazette' or something like that. After reading it through, he came out with this comment: "I've learnt one thing from picking up that newspaper.......never to pick it up again". QUOTE OF THE DAY PART DEUX: Another classic from Friday was when we were in the Chap Mobile in the evening. I commented "the new burial ground is now open", to which Jonesy responded: "What's it for then?" |
