| McCarthy
prepares to tee off for the first time in 2008 |
The
first hole had been made more challenging by the groundsmans decision
not to cut any grass around it |
 |
 |
| McCarthy
navigates it in a not-so expert manner |
Lloyd
tackles the first hole |
 |
 |
| A
good putt on the second |
McCarthy
prepares to tee off on the third |
 |
 |
| Unfortunately,
he ended up nearer hole number one, and his resulting second shot saw
his ball disappear into shrubbery |
With
the ball unable to be found, McCarthy steals one found on an earlier
green |
 |
 |
| Lloyd
with an expert shot on the third |
Teeing
off on the fourth |
 |
 |
| The
fourth was made more challenging by their being a hole on the green |
McCarthy
somehow putted successfully when his ball was in the hole |
 |
 |
| Lloyd
chases his ball after it found its away into the hedges on the fifth |
And
he is soon sprinting back to retrieve his forgotten clubs |
 |
 |
| The
fifth was spruced up due to the fact that the plastic that should have
been inside the hole was poking over the top |
We
wondered if this piece of club was the result of a brutal murder. If it
was, it now had McCarthys fingerprints all over it |
 |
 |
| These
considerate and sensible people wander straight across the sixth as Bert
prepared to tee off |
McCarthy
knew he was in trouble as he ended up in a bush, with this being his
view of the hole |
 |
 |
| A
new technique was formed of teeing off the with the putter, and it was
suprisingly successful |
Lloyd
had become an expert at the delicate chip shot |
 |
 |
| Another
member of the public wanders across the pitch. We did not shout at this
man due to the fact he had a large dog and looked like he had just
escaped from Broadmoor |
The
traditional bunker remained on the last hole |
 |
|
| Lloyd
takes a putt that would secure victory in the first match of 2008 |
