JOLLY BOYS OUTING 5 - THE RETURN TO LONDON

After much speculation, the Jolly Boys did return a lot sooner than expected! This time it was a hastily arranged trip to the Houses of Parliament, which also involved a voyage round London! The trip was designed for Sociology or History students, but Scott managed to sneak on anyway. However, this outing was minus Phil Durrant who missed out due to other commitments, but Chris and Scott were joined by IT Guru Bert Lloyd and Peter Ingles. So the line up was:

Mr Scott McCarthy. Original Jolly Boy, Chairman Mac Industries

Mr Chris Traylen, Original Jolly Boy, Bert Lloyd, IT Guru Peter Ingles, ex-Marle Place
It's back to the technological heights of the RDH coaches. Our one was even complete with a tea and coffee machine! Scott had bought along a packet of chocie biscuits. However, he couldn't get into them. So he gave them to Bert to have a go......
And he soon discovered that it was a simple pull-string mechanism. We arrive in London! Scott, Ingles and Chris pose for a photo outside of the Houses of Parliament. Both Scott and Ingles model blazers, and Scott has a pink tie!
With 2 hours to spend round London, we head for the underground. However, Bert gets caught crossing the road Once on the Underground, there's a bit of confusion as to where we're going. This is the first time we get lost!
We eventually work out where we're going, and Chris enjoys the journey We go to the wonderful station of Leicester Square!
Scott gets his hands into the legendary Michael Caine's prints! We decided to head from Leicester Square to Covent Garden. However, we are soon lost again (that's twice!) Bert and Ingles try to figure out which way we should be going!
We get to Covent Garden, where there's a pub called the Nags Head! But the 3 Wheel Van has lost a wheel!
The classical music within Covent Garden from various buskers goes down well! Ever seen the Royal Mail "I saw this and thought of you advert?" Well, we saw this and thought of Sailor!
Some people just end up getting everywhere..... Guess what? We got lost again. However, someone who wishes to remain anonymous thought he'd found our way out by finding "Nelsons Column" Only trouble was it wasn't Nelsons Column!
We did eventually find the real one though! Who are those three fine gentlemen on it?
Ah yes! We scaled the heights, risking body and limb for this shot! Next up we venture down The Mall to Buckingham Palace
We pose outside, and Scott shows off the Falmer For All T-Shirt, complete with Des Lynam signature! Maybe one day we'll see our very own Sailor taking up this honourable position!

Ingles, Bert and Chris enjoy the view from the Palace We wander through the park. Scott tries using one of Jamie's chat up lines. Shows how effective they are, it didn't even work on a duck!
Prince Phillip left the remains of last nights curry when he took a walk in the park earlier. The pigeons took no time in finding the remains...... Walking past the Cabinet War Rooms, Ingles Bert and Chris posed for this picture with a statue of.......
Clive! Anybody know how the devil he is? No trip would be complete without a visit to Downing Street
Two great British legends meet....... Churchill and McCarthy
The monument to all those who died to give us freedom For a moment, Chris and Ingles thought they'd been magically transported to Switzerland!
Unfortuantely you're not allowed to take photos inside the Houses of Parliament. These quick ones of the lads afterwards did no harm though These are taken in the very same building the Queen Mother was laid in state, and where Charles I was sentenced with treason!
Legendary Maggie Parnell seems to have enjoyed her day This blurred shot of Big Ben is a fine piece of photography
Ingles, Bert and Scott call into Papa Johns afterwards. Ingle's enjoys a casual look at this kind mans paper And Bert tucks into a fine Pizza that wrapped the day up in style!
