Scott McCarthy DAY XIX saw the debut of the Pub Golf competition. This grueling test of drinking endurance saw 12 pubs in Burgess Hill taken on, with the eventual winner being the one who took less attempts to drink their drink. It was McCarthy and Dougie Lane going at it from the start, and their was no doubt the day would end in controversy, but what better way to celebrate McCarthy Day XIX

The day begins in the Weald at 11.30am. Dougie Lane, McCarthy and Dan Collin kick the proceedings off Charles 'Strike' Ball soon puts in a surprise appearance
Next on the course, the Woolpack This is followed by the Cricketers
McCarthy enjoys the hospitality of this establishment Chapman did a fine job in the early rounds as driver, as Lane plays the quiz machine in the background
We investigate the size of Strikes head Lane looks forward to the remaining 9 establishments
Collin was on the Strongbow and Blackcurrant, which barman Jones once famously thought was a pint of Aftershock The Kings Head was next on the list
A game of pool between Lane and Chapman was taking place, as McCarthy and Collin continue Chapman would end the victor of the pool
The Windmill was next up on the trail Collin enjoys his drink
Laney looks forward to pint number 5, were a third strawpedo of the day would also take place Chapman looks on in a regal manner, as we debated whether anyone had ever been inside the gas holder in the background
McCarthy waves for the camera Strike was showing dedication beyond the call of duty in partaking in the competition
The Watermill followed the Brewers, which we achieved no pictures of as it was a case of getting in and out as quickly as possible McCarthy and Lane reflect on the competition thus far

The Top House became pub 9, via a toilet break at the Collin household, leaving just 3 to complete the set  Lane looks on in the Top House
Collin has wisely decided to move onto the vodka and cokes McCarthy has refreshed himself at the Collin household by changing into one of Will Collins shirts
We were joined by Tom Witham in the Railway, and then head across to Uncle Sams to take advantage of some vouchers for dinner Next up is the Potters, the pub with the record of removing McCarthy more than any other Burgess Hill establishment
Chapman is back, and has also changed his t-shirt Lane is looking a little worse for wear
Witham makes a phone call Strike looks somewhat bedazzled by the flash
McCarthy also looks a bit worse for wear Laney is soon soaked, as his pint goes absolutely everywhere
Jacobs Post becomes pub12, as we complete the set, joined now by John Boy Hewitt. At this point, Lane was sleeping outside McDonalds Witham, Hewitt and McCarthy enjoy the hospitality of this final stoppage
McCarthy finishes his pint, completing a pint in all 12 pubs along with additional drinks Having completed what we set out to do, it is time to wander down to the bars, with Mooch being the first port of call. Bert Lloyd arrives
And here he is, Robert Jones puts in an appearance Mark Potter, Oli Johnson and Tom Still arrive on the scene
Witham and Chapman pose outside the famous Truffles, scene of many drunk breakfasts, as we make our way to Pulse We decide to head back to the Weald, the place where it all began some 12 hours previously. Unfortunately, McCarthy is finding walking a bit of a struggle
