Chapman is another player to have been produced by the
famed Condor Green Footballing Accademy. He was soon
snapped up by the team he supported as a boy, Marle
Place Wanderers. During the 1990's, he became one of the
most feared players in the league, as he lead Marle
Place onto some of their greatest triumphs. Chapman
still holds the record for number of goals in a season,
when he notched 21 in 19 games as Wanderers claimed 3rd
place in the B League, and missed out on promotion by a
point. His departure from the club, due to long term
injury, was the first step towards its demise, as the
club lost its talismanic forward. He has since enjoyed a
brief spell at Fairfield, where injury hampered his
first team involvement, but he still managed to find his
way onto the score sheet. Struggling for fitness, he was
loaned out to Old Varndeanians, and impressed with
several goals. However, the Crocs could not afford a
permanent deal for the forward. With Jamie Farhall
having known Chapman from their time together at the
Green Accademy, and Scott McCarthy having captained him
at Old Varndeanians, it was only natural that he made
the move to Mac Industries in 2003-2004. Chapman's
arrival was greeted with emphatic scenes, and he
finished the season second top goal scorer. 2004-2005
saw him continue his fine form, and despite being the
most senior player in the team by some distance, he
still shows the hunger and desire to succeed that has
made him a fan favourite. In 2005-2006, he again ended
the season as second top scorer, despite the fact he was
used in a deeper midfield role. 2006-2007 saw the
veteran have his most successful season yet, as he
finished top scorer
Another
one of the ageing squad, Chapman is still considered a
cornerstone of the side for his flexibility to adapt to
both a strikers role and being deployed wide on the
left. A fan favourite for his goal line clearances, his
attempted overhead kicks and his fiery temper, Peter has
the disabled area of the Hamsters Cage named in his
