Man of the Match: Dan Collin, 12 goals on his debut and an accomplished performance by the ex-Southdown man

Mac Industries continued their unbeaten start to the season with this 25-6 triumph over Mierosoft FC in front of the Sky Cameras. A full house of 18,000 was packed into the Hamsters Cage, as the league new boys were the visitors. Jamie Jones missed out with a scrotum injury, which gave Ben Walmsley the chance to shine following promotion from the youth team. Doug Lane returned at the back for his first start since April after suffering from heart trouble, and Jamie Farhall had a revised role behind the front 2 of Chapman and Colin. Captain Tom Walmsley moved back to partner Lane in defence, allowing Bert Lloyd to play in the anchorman midfield role, while Director of Football Scott McCarthy started in between the sticks

Mierosoft gifted the Hamsters the first goal of the game, when a quick goal kick was played to a defender, who attempted to knock it back to the visitors keeper. However, he completely missed it, and the ball went straight into the back of the net. Mierosoft soon showed that they had not come to be walked over however, and almost pulled themselves back into it, McCarthy being forced into a superb one handed save to deny Dave Riley. Mac Industries had a golden chance to go further ahead, when Dan Collin pulled the ball back for the unmarked Peter Chapman, but the usually-reliable striker somehow screwed his shot over the bar. Mierosoft made the home side pay for that error, when a shot from Riley was stopped by McCarthy, but the re-bound was stuck away by Rob Osbourne. Debutant Ben Walmsley soon put Mac Industries back into it, with a neat goal, but Mierosoft pulled it back again - this time a quick break saw Kieran Elliott strike a perfect shot, which rocketed past McCarthy into the corner of the goal, much to the delight of the traveling fans in the Tom McCarthy Stand

The warning signs were there from the visitors, and Mac Industries knew they would have to step it up a gear in order to get a result. They soon did what was necessarily, with Jamie Farhall netting, followed by 2 from Dan Collin. Captain Tom Walmsley got in on the act, netting a quick-fire hat-trick to put Wanderers 8-2 up. Jamie Farhall then incurred a nasty injury, when he battled extremely well to keep the ball in, only to slip over on the perimeter track, injuring his knee in the process. Dan Collin completed his hat-trick by making it 9-2, and Farhall got his second, followed by another 2 for Collin. The Hamsters went into half-time with a 12-2 advantage.

Mac Industries started the second half well, and a mazy run from Chapman saw Jamie Farhall played in, and he squeezed between 2 defenders to add another goal for the home side. Mierosoft, buoyed by there fine first half performance, came out all guns blazing in the second half, and Kieran Elliot pulled them back into the game, his second goal coming after McCarthy was too eager to rush off his line. Ben Walmsley then netted his second of the game, before Dave Riley made it 14-4, nodding the ball over McCarthy after the Hamsters keeper misjudged a cross. Kieran Elliott was again on the score sheet, but this time it was for an own-goal, to make it 15-4, and then goals from Dan Collin, Ben Walmsley and Tom Walmsley made it 18-4.

Dan Collin then showed why he is one of the most dangerous strikers in the land, as he kept the ball in the air, flicking it over 3 players heads before drilling a shot past the Mierosoft keeper, after which Dave Riley pulled another goal for the visitors, making it 19-5. Bert Lloyd finally got on the score sheet, before a Farhall own goal made it 20-6. Peter Chapman finally added the goal he deserved for a tireless performances late on, and this was followed by finishes from Tom Walmsley, and the last 3 goals coming from Ben Walmsley, to take his tally for the evening to 6 and wrap up a fine evenings work by Mac Industries
