Parkour
FC were convincingly swept away this evening by
Mac Industries, as they stretched their unbeaten
record to 6 games. With Jamie Farhall out, Scott
McCarthy took charge of the side, and made a
number of changes to the one that beat Mierosoft
10-6 last week. Chris Davis returned in goal,
while Doug Lane missed out with a sprained
beard. Kieran Elliott came into the side to
partner captain Bert Lloyd in defence, while
Jamie Jones was pushed into midfield, alongside
Dave Riley due to a recurrence of Tom Walmsley's
dislocated ear. Peter Chapman also missed out
with a fractured throat, which meant that Scott
McCarthy partnered Dan Collin in attack.
McCarthy
made Mac Industries history within 12 seconds of
the kick off. Parkour gave the ball away to Dan
Collin, who went on a mazy run before crossing
to the unmarked McCarthy, who tucked the ball
away to make it 1-0. The frantic start to the
match continued, as McCarthy this time turned
provider, with his run and cross finding Dave
Riley, who took the time to tuck the ball home
and make it 2-0. Parkour looked to get back into
the game, but Elliott and Lloyd looked strong at
the back, and couldn't find a way through. Dan
Collin's hard work up front finally paid off, as
Riley took control of the ball down the right
flank, and sent in a fantastic ball, which was
duly finished off by Collin. The Hamsters were
still not totally in control though, as Parkour
were winning it in the midfield, but they just
couldn't find that final ball. One failed
attempt resulted in a goal kick for Mac
Industries, which Elliott duly launched over the
top of the defence, allowing Collin to run free
and round the keeper to make it 4-0.
It
was soon 5-0, as Riley, showing off the hard
work rate that has already made him a fans
favourite at the Hamsters Cage, slipped through
a superb ball to Collin, who secured his
hat-trick. Riley was at the thick of things
again, as his cross field pass found McCarthy,
who's pull back across goal was knocked in by
Collin. He then added his 5th, and Mac
Industries 7th, when Elliott split the defence,
allowing Collin time and space to cut in from
the flank and beat the keeper. McCarthy, who was
now dropping off deeper than his original
striking position, was found by Riley, and a
clever one-two saw the man on-loan from
Mierosoft break clear down the right, and put in
a superb ball for Collin to finish and make it
8-0. Jamie Jones thought he had added a 9th, but
his driven effort took a deflection, and fell
straight to Dan Collin, who yet again slotted
the ball home to make it 9-0.
Bert
Lloyd was looking solid at the back, and it was
his turn and pass that found McCarthy. The
Director of Football went onto beat 2 players,
before firing the ball past Dan Lawrence in the
Parkour goal. The last action of the half saw
Riley again claim an assist, as he found Dan
Collin with an inch perfect pass, and the
striker claimed his 8th goal of the game with a
good finish past Lawrence.
Parkour
FC made changes in the second half, with
Christian Jones, brother of Jamie and a Welsh
under-21 international, coming on in goal. The
changes worked, as Jones produced a string of
fine saves to deny the Hamsters forwards.
Parkour pushed forward, and Chris Davis was
forced into action, making three saves to
preserve his clean sheet. Bert Lloyd went on a
mazy run, but after finding Collin with the
pass, the ex-Southdown man saw his shot cannon
off the post, and the follow up cleared off the
line. Sensing a change in the tide, McCarthy
switched things, and moved back to his more
natural defensive position, allowing Lloyd to
join Collin in attack. It worked, as the
Director of Football picked up the ball in the
back-line, and slipped a delightful ball through
the Parkour defence, allowing Collin to make it
12-0. He added his 10th of the game when Dave
Riley played a superb pass though, splitting the
defence in two and making it 13-0. After
weathering the storm, McCarthy moved back into
attack, and almost grabbed a hat-trick, after
playing a one-two with Lloyd, but saw his shot
cannon off the post. Chris Davis then pulled off
a superb save from a one-on-one, before Jamie
Jones missed an easy chance, firing over the bar
instead.
McCarthy
finally netted his hat-trick, when Lloyd found
him in the center of midfield, and the Director
of Football went on a mazy run, beating 2
players with a bit of luck, and firing past
Jones to make it 14-0. Dave Riley claimed yet
another assist, as his turn and pass was yet
again tucked away by Dan Collin. Jamie Jones was
back to his usual self in defence, as he gave
the ball away, allowing the Parkour attack time
and space to get in on goal, but Davis was again
equal to the shot. The goal of the night came
from Mac Industries. McCarthy, back in defence,
won the ball and found Elliott. His quick pass
found Riley, who with one touch played it into
Collin to net the goal that made it 16-0.
With
only Collin, McCarthy and Riley having scored so
far, it was time for the rest of the team to get
on the act. Dave Riley saw his shot deflected,
but it fell straight to Jones, who was delighted
to put the ball in the back of the net and score
past his brother. Kieran Elliott thought he had
made it 18-0 with a superb volleyed effort, but
Christian Jones was equal to it, with a
fantastic one armed save. However, the luck that
had gone to the Hamsters all night continued, as
the ball fell to Collin, who duly finished it
off. Elliott finally got the goal he deserved
though, when Bert Lloyds through ball was
cleared away by Christian Jones, but it fell
straight to Elliott, who fired in an unstoppable
shot to make it 19-0. Dan Collin went on another
mazy run, beating a number of players to make it
20-0, and Bert Lloyd finally got on the score sheet,
when Dave Riley popped up down the left flank,
and his pull back was met by the captain of the
day, who made it 21-0. Dan Collin wrapped up the
scoring after another McCarthy run, although
Jones would've had a claim to the goal had he of
made contact instead of sliding into the back of
the net.
Parkour
FC went onto score 3, while Dan Collin added 5
more and McCarthy another one. However, due to
not being sure of the final score, we have
rounded it to 22-3.
