PIZZA HUT - ALL YOU CAN EAT CHALLENGE - 13/06/05

It had been 4 months since the last Pizza Hut Challenge. 4 long months in which the competitors had put in a lot of hard work in preparing for the next test of eating endurance. With McCarthy having won the previous 3 battles, could anyone stop him today? It would be down to Peter Chapman and Bert Lloyd to do so, as Jamie Jones didn't bother to get up for this contest, as 'the outside is cold, and Scott cheated'.

RESULTS

Competitor: P. Chapman R. Lloyd S. McCarthy
Slices completed: 15 (PB) 13 23 (NR)

Chapman was looking to set a personal best in today's event Bert once again took on the role of Official Adjudicator, and had some tough calls to make, such as Scott McCarthys query on vomiting and whether it would mean a slice deduction
McCarthy has polished off a plates worth quickly And Chapman is soon struggling, but that vision of a personal best 15 slices is there to spur him on
Bert takes his time, using the conservative approach that has bought him several runners up spots in the past McCarthy tops up, with another 3 slices of the delicious pizza
And those are soon disapearing Chapman is back in the game, and even takes time out to offer a McCarthy-style pose
McCarthy announces to a shocked restaurant that he is going for a personal best of 23, and pumps himself up for the task ahead Bert is shocked at this announcement
This advert contained a fault, as we discussed how was it possible to have bottomless drinks, as if they were bottomless the drink would never reach the top, thus meaning it would be impossible to drink The scores at the halfway stage, Chapman on 14, Bert on 13, and McCarthy in the lead on 18
McCarthy managed to somehow break his seat over the course of the event Bert is out, after managing 13 slices, meaning he finished in last place
McCarthy struggles to reach that elusive 23 But he continues to try, cramming another piece into his mouth
And he is soon back up to the Pizza Selection Facility Chapman poses with this knife, happy in the knowledge he has secured the runners up spot, and a personal best of 15
McCarthy remains upbeat, as that record looms ever closer More pizza is consumed
This handy receipt showed the price we would have to pay McCarthy can see the record, but is starting to struggle
Can his determination drive him on to complete what would be a mammoth effort He equals his best of 22 - this slice would see the new record set
Bert can hardly contain his excitement, having to eat this complimentary mint to do so While Chapman licks the face of the Queen to show his support for this galactic effort
Bert whips out the camera, and prepares to film this historical moment in the Mac Industries Pizza Hut Challenge With this final crumb will come the record - surely its just a matter of time
McCarthy prepares to eat it...... And he does it! A 4th consecutive win, and a new record of 23. It brings the poor man to tears
And there we have it - the final score card says it all!
