An early evening flight from London Stansted saw us arrive in Poland at around 8pm local time. With a distinct lack of Polish, we somehow managed to board a bus and get dropped off at our hotel. Despite only booking it a couple of days before, Rumble came up trumps with the price, the fact that our room had a mini bar and breakfast being provided. After dumping our traveling stuff off, we did the most natural thing - headed for a bar. Katowice was clearly not a tourist place, and was most definitely still feeling the era of communism, with tall grey buildings and industrialism dominating. We soon found a delightful little bar, where a meal and three pints were taken for under £10. On our exit from this tranquil setting, we headed back to the hotel through the snow, which naturally resulted in a snow fight breaking out, before retiring to our beds for the long day that would follow tomorrow
