SUSSEX SHARKS V MIDDLESEX CRUSADERS - 02/09/04 |

The last day-night game of the season. Sussex's promotion dreams were ended on Sunday, and Middlesex have already been promoted as champions. Nothing to play for then, a boring game? Far from it! We followed the time-old tradition of last game of the season being fancy dress, and at the same time decided to celebrate Sussex's best one-day season for donkeys years by having a piss up at the same time. With the game live on sky as well, it was all set up for a cracking evening! |

It was a fine end to the season.
Sussex beat the Champions convincingly, and it bodes well for next
season. We sang and cheered all night, getting nearly everyone at the
Cromwell Road End to join in as well. We even made it onto sky, and if
Chapman does his stuff, we hope to bring the footage to you!
Most compelling of all though, was when one old lady came up to us at the end and said: "You made it entertaining tonight lads". It bought a lump to 4 rather drunk throats. ROLL ON NEXT SEASON! |
