In a break from the tradition of McCarthy holidays, the 2010 summer holiday was not to somewhere where cheap drinking was the main priority. No, it had been decided that as well as the cheap alcohol we all crave, a beach and a hot climate were also in order. Oh, and it had to be cheap. With all these characteristics, it was pointing towards one country - Croatia. The destination was therefore decided as the tourist heaven of Split, an ancient Roman city with narrow streets, beautiful islands off it, a beach and lots of cheap beer - and of course, the chance to discuss Davor Suker and all he meant to this football-crazy nation
