MINOR CELEBRITY WORLD TOUR

CLOSING THOUGHTS

Well, what can one say about that. I would have to describe it as the greatest week of my life, it simply was a scene that can only be suitably described using the adjective marvelous. In all honesty, I wish I didn't have to come home. Football every day, the heat of Spain, meeting fellow legends and celebrities, it really is the stuff dreams are made of.

+ POSITIVES +

- NEGATIVES -

+ Meeting Iker Casillas. He is a bit of a personal hero for his short sleeves and white boots, so to get him signing my gloves was fantastic
+ Meeting Raul. A Spanish legend and one of the best goal scorers in the world
+ Seeing the Mestalla Stadium. It is being knocked down in the next 10 years, which is a crying shame
+ Keeping a clean sheet against Valencia Academy Under 18's. How many people can say they've done that?
+ Buying a Valencia shirt. Sure, you can get them in England, but you can't get them personalized with the correct letters and numbers
+ Telling Fernando Torres to sign for Brighton. He looked completely bewildered
+ Calling the Spain manager a tosser to his face, without him having a clue what I was saying
+ Meeting the drummer man. When he is next on the TV during a Spain game, I can say I had my photo with him!
There are thousands of more positives that I could list, but am not going to
- Getting sun burnt. It was rather irritable, and is beginning to peel now
- Not finding the Holy Grail. On the plus side, we did find that nice sweet shop
- Not taking my camera to the training pitch, a picture with Casilas would've been absolutely incredible
- Missing Peter Crouch's England Debut

My first World Tour in 2 years has been an overwhelming success. Met some great people, made some good friends, and got sun burnt. Overall though, it can easily be described as the best 6 day period of McCarthy's life. Spain loves Scott McCarthy, and now Scott McCarthy loves Spain (Apart from the cleaner who stole one of my biscuits)
